Assign a Lab
Use Assign when students will complete the activity and its evaluations in the future.
Start the assignment
Section titled “Start the assignment”- Go to Evaluations > Labs.
- Open the Templates tab and select a template.
- Tap Assign Evals to Students.
- Make sure Assign is selected.
- Select the organization unit and cohort, then choose the students who will participate.
Students must be eligible to use EMCE Pro before they can be added. EMCE shows a notice when selected students are not eligible.
Choose the event
Section titled “Choose the event”When Scheduling is enabled, choose one option:
- Pick existing event links the Lab to an event that already exists.
- Create new event creates a new schedule event for the Lab. Set its date, start time, duration, color, location, and other available details.
When Scheduling is disabled for the selected organization unit, EMCE does not create a calendar event. Enter the Lab date, start time, and duration instead. The resulting Lab remains available from Labs and its evaluations remain available from Evaluations.
Organize Sim Session teams
Section titled “Organize Sim Session teams”If the template contains Sim Session requirements:
- Review each generated team.
- Add, remove, or rearrange team members as needed.
- Select a facilitator for each team.
- Add another team if the roster requires it.
After the Lab is created, make later participant or facilitator changes from the individual Sim Session. Its date remains controlled by the Lab.
Create the Lab
Section titled “Create the Lab”Review the roster, event, and teams, then use the action at the bottom of the screen to create the Lab.
EMCE creates the parent Lab evaluations and their related Skill, Patient, and Sim Session work in the background. The Lab’s Overview shows generation progress. Faculty can leave the screen while processing continues.
